This video clip i have watched on youtube about how to use your DSLR camera more effectively when shooting films instead of still photos i felt would not be very useful for me as i felt i already new a lot about my camera. But also that i felt that is wasn't the best tool for filming with as from getting clips for my preliminary task. Watching the footage back on my macbook i wasn't very happy with the video quality, which i feel is one of the most important aspects of making your film/ video look professional also along with camera technique and other aspects. If your quality is grainy or focus is unclear the video will look amateurish and unappealing to watch compared with a crystal clear footage.
However from watching this youtube i think my camera was not set up correctly, with the right apprture and to the correct quality. So for next year or even for the preliminary task. I might have a reshoot even if for the preliminary task it is still mixed in with some lower quality clips as we don't have much time to finish it now. Although this will still benefit me a lot as next year it will give me a much better idea of how to use the camera and the quality and techniques available to me so i can tailor my film around that.
As for the editing of my film this clip hasn't been a hudge help. However i still have the mentality of to make a good movie or music video. The most effective ones are not ones that have great fighting or action scenes. But to have simple scenes shot well and at lots of angles will demenstrate a wider range of skills and give a much more professional edge to the film.
